Here's to the weekend!!

This weekend was a much needed trip to see the Stimmels in Indiana. It started with what seemed like a really long drive, almost running out of gas, and a not so yummy meal at Arby's. We finally arrived near 10 PM to a intoxicated Adam and a wound up Austin. After a pleasant visit, we went to bed.

Saturday was filled with a sick Maddie coughing all over me, a man-date between Adam and Alan, and a Goumet Food party. After nearly throttling Meili for abusing the Stimmel's lab Nana, we played some games and visited some more.

This morning we awoke to a still sick Maddie, a sick Staci, and frozen pipes. Luckily, the pipe situation was resolved quickly and without any problems by using a space heater. Mid-morning we headed out so Alan could go to an audition. While he auditioned, I cleaned the bathroom (woohoo!). We met up at the Thai restaurant for soup and warm custard. Mmmm. Now is a evening of relaxing before the weekly grind.

Here's to hoping that I don't get sick.

I can honestly say I don't recall a time when I've been in subzero temps. I recall days the windchill was below zero, or when the temp fell below zero at night, but I think today is my first day standing outside with the temp at -7. I don't recall having my face feel like stone in less than 2 minutes. I will say that despite the cold, my body was realitively comfortable...when I was out for 2-3 minutes. This morning I walked about one city block from the bus to work, and it took me 1 1/2 hours and a hot mug of tea to thaw out. Standing waiting the train for 10 minutes was torture. I'm just happy the wind was mild. Our wind chill was only -24 when -30 was predicted. Tomorrow it is supposed to hit 7 and be 30 by Sunday. I can't wait for Sunday. Yay Sunday!

Yay winter!

Meili turned 11 today. We celebrated by giving her a dog bone 1/2 the length of her body. After breaking the bone up so she could manage it, she ate 1/2 and strategically placed the remaining 2 pieces on 2 stuffed animals on opposite sides of the room. Occasionally she'd walk around the room and check on her treats before she moved them while we were at dinner. I think senility has really got a hold on her.

Looking back at 2008

Well it was sure a year I will remember! Here are some of the big things that stick out to me.

January - My trip to Chicago to see what it was like and to do some auditions and shows.

Amanda suggested that I see what a "True Chicago winter was" before I decided to move out here and what a winter I walked into! One of the coldest January's on record. But I got to see Bryan and Sarah and do an Extra Shelves show plus play with a Second City Grad cast called Twisty.

February - Jeff and I did a six week project to re-body my bike that was both stressful and fun!

Extra Shelves did a sold out show at the SCLA and it was AWESOME!

March - We got our place in Chicago!

That was nerve racking. But I felt better knowing I had a place to stay.

April - My landlord in Los Angeles got himself (and our building) put into a program that LA runs for slums where the landlord has to fix everything they see as wrong and the tenets only have to pay half rent.

This helped a lot for the move. But in the end he screwed me out of my $800 deposit... Oh well...

May - Jeff and I finished the bike and I asked Amanda to marry me!

May was a busy month! I had to fix my bike, buy a ring and figure out an ultra cool way to ask Amanda to marry me. Some how it all got done!

Extra Shelevs had it's one year anniversary and we made it my last show in LA. I miss playing with those guys every day.

June - Sold the bike and sent Meili to Ohio and drove to Chicago!

The bike sold to the first person that called! SO HAPPY about that. Then Amanda and I sent Meili to Ohio... She was none to happy.

And Amanda and I drove to Chicago for a week taking in all the sites in this wonderful land

Then we got to our place and started filling it with Ikia crap

July - We have a wedding date and a AWESOME location!

September 26th, 2009 at the Toledo Zoo and man will it be fun! We also got to enjoy "A Taste of Chicago" and see fireworks in the park.

August - Meili does not like thunder storms and I decide to get a tattoo.

Yes, my dog is a BIG sissy when it comes to storms we discover. And Amanda buys my first tattoo and I spend the whole month stressing over what to get.

September - I get my teath fixed and the election is on everyone's minds.

After a long over due visit to my dentist I feel more like a human being and am happier than I have been in years.

The election starts getting nasty, Chicago rains and floods and I start trying to adjust to working at home. Our bank gets "aquiered" by Chase.

October - I have my first show in Chicago!

I was invited to be a guest on a show called "Sickest Stories" and made some new friends.

My birthday was a BLAST and I love my new tattoo!

Amanda, Bryan, Sarah and me all do "Improv Everywhere" in the rain and have a blast!

November - Amanda and I go to Obama's rally! Exciting!!!

The next day I fly to Fresno to surprise my Mom! Best trip EVER!

I start our new blog here.

December - my first Christmas in Ohio.

We got a Wii and a Wii Fit!

Meili was douted on to no end and much food was consumed.

We had a Kick-Butt new years party at our house and brought in 2009!

Drinking and watching the game!
